North Carolina is at serious risk of not running the SUN Bucks program next summer, putting more than 1 million children at risk of hunger.
Last summer, SUN Bucks, also known as Summer EBT, provided $120 in grocery benefits per eligible child to help families fill the gap when school meals weren’t available. More than 1 million North Carolina kids benefited from this program, helping them get the nutrition they needed to grow, learn, and thrive.
Without state support, North Carolina will lose this critical program and the federal funding that comes with it, leaving families without help and local economies without the boost SUN Bucks provides.
We need North Carolina’s leaders to commit to continuing the program and ensuring it’s ready to run next summer. Please contact your state elected leaders today and urge them to support SUN Bucks for North Carolina’s kids and families.
