TELL CONGRESS: Protect Kids from Hunger. Restore SNAP.

In July, Congress passed a harmful bill with the most extreme cuts ever made to SNAP America’s largest food assistance program, and one of the most effective tools we have to fight hunger. This bill also puts unprecedented administrative and financial burdens on states to run the program, making it more likely that they stop operating SNAP altogether.

With 42 million Americans including 16 million children at risk of losing access to grocery benefits, now is the time to act. Tell your members of Congress to act quickly to roll back the devastating impact of this bill and to restore SNAP benefits for millions of Americans.

Restore SNAP

Dear [Decision Maker],

Across our nation, 42 million people, including 1 in 5 children, participate in SNAP. It's one of the most powerful tools we have to end hunger and reduce poverty in the U.S. At a time when food insecurity is already rising, these cuts move us backwards, not forward, and put millions of kids and families at greater risk of hunger and hardship.

The changes made in H.R. 1 undercut SNAP's ability to end childhood hunger by:

- Eroding the value of SNAP benefits over time, making it harder for families to keep up with the rising cost of food.
- Shifting administrative and benefit costs to states a burden that could result in delayed services or reduced access for families in need, or the worst case scenario, states dropping out of SNAP altogether.
- Expanding harsh time limits and bureaucratic barriers for adults up to age 64, including those with children aged 14 and older policies that will disproportionately harm older adults, parents, and caregivers who already face challenges finding stable employment.

As your constituent, I urge you to fight for kids and families by supporting the Restoring Food Security for American Families and Farmers Act of 2025, a bicameral bill that seeks to reverse the dangerous cuts and policy changes made to SNAP in H.R. 1. I also urge you to fully fund SNAP, WIC, and school meals and protect these programs from any additional cuts.

It's not too late to do the right thing for millions of kids and families across the country, including those in our own backyard. Please do everything in your power to restore, strengthen, and defend SNAP and other crucial nutrition programs.

Sincerely,
